Eleven Months
Tempus is definitely fugiting. My two little wombats are eleven months old, which is astonishing enough, and their first birthday is only a month away.
Both girls are crawling now, and can move at quite a high rate of speed when they want to. Emma’s crawl is a one-knee, one-foot, one-elbow, one-hand sort of affair (vs. Chloe’s commando crawl) but they both seem to get where they’re going. They’ll play for ages in Baby Shawshank, and remain as enamored of Baby Einstein as ever. And they both spend an inordinate amount of time laughing at the other’s antics. And poking each other in the eye.
Sleep schedule hasn’t changed much from last month. And that’s all I’m going to say, at risk of angering the sleep gods.
They love to eat. Steak. Grilled cheese. Green beans. Cottage cheese. Applesauce. Bananas, oh much-loved bananas. Cheerios. Pancakes. And, of course, the culinary holy grail, Baby Mum-mums. And they still love their nursie first thing in the morning, each time they wake up from a nap, and before bed. And rarely in the middle of the night.
Clothes are presently 3-6 months (which are getting a little short, although they’re doing OK circumferentially) and size 3 diapers. (Luvs rock my world, as do Target dipes. No more expensive Pampers here!) Shoes just edging out of size 1. Chloe has six teeth, and Emma has one and is working on a second. Grandpa calls her “Fang.”
At their pediatrician visit mid-month, Chloe was 15#6 oz, and 26 inches long, with a ginormous head. (47 cm, if memory serves.) Emma was 16#9 oz, and 27 inches. Also with ginormous head (46.5 cm.) Developmentally right on track for 9-month-olds, which gestationally they are.
We’ve had a fun-filled month with water play, and reading books, and walks in the neighborhood and every day is a new adventure.
