Westward Ho

Chloe, Emma, Piper, Aunt K and myself are headed west to Mayberry (my parents’ hometown, and the town in which I grew up) for the annual cookie weekend bake-a-thon.  I’m guessing that this year there will be more baby-holding than baking, but after all these years, we wouldn’t do without the Christmas tradition.  We generally bake a few kinds of cookies, watch Christmas Vacation and a few other Christmas movies, and do some shopping.  Great girls’ time.  Starbuck will be joining us on Friday p.m. through the weekend, so we’ll be four adults vs two infants, drastically improving my current ratio.  No cutout sugar cookies planned this year (they’re too much work with newborn twins to wrangle) and we’re going to rectify Aunt K’s scandalous problem (the fact that she’s never, in 50-ahem years of life, seen Miracle on 34th Street.  Shocking.)

I’m having the babes’ pictures taken by a great photographer in Mayberry.  We’ll do 5 sittings over the course of the next year, all for $99 each.  A steal, I’d say (and she’s really good, too.)  I’ll post a few examples once I have them.

Have a nice weekend, all.  We’ll be back on Monday!

Can’t wait to see the pics! Enjoy the break your arms will get with all those extras just itching to hold babies!

You DO mean the original (1947) Miracle on 34th Street with Natalie Wood and NOT the craptastic remake from the ’90s. Right? RIGHT?

Because, really, it is a tragedy that your aunt has not seen the orignal movie. But, the fact that she hasn’t seen the craptastic remake just gives her props in my book. 😛

    Have a great time baking!

If you have time, watch “Elf” (with Will Farrell). It’s really fun.

Yes, LM. The original, black&white (even the technicolor is heresy.) We shall not speak of the 90’s abomination. 😉
