Confidential to Sen. Kerry & Sen. Kennedy: Grow Up

Y’know, I have to respect Sen. Obama.

From the AP:
“There’s one way to guarantee that the judges who are appointed to the Supreme Court are judges that reflect our values. And that’s to win elections,” Obama said.

Um, yes. That’s how it works. No one filibustered against Ruth Bader Ginsburg in the 90’s, and yes, most Republicans dislike(d) her politics as much as most Democrats dislike Alito’s. The point of advice & consent, and the entire confirmation process, is to ensure that the person is qualified to perform the job, not to determine whether or not the person agrees with your political slant.

Obama may be a new face on the Hill (relatively speaking) but he makes the oldsters like Kerry and Kennedy look like fools.
