Things Left to Do on my House

a.k.a. Why There Are No House Pictures Yet. I’ve heard the requests for pictures. Really I have. Unfortunately, the completely unbridled OCD aspect of my personality prevents me from posting house pictures until each room is absolutely done. Not every room, but if I post living room pictures, I want them to be of the finished living room. So…without further ado…here is the complete “to do” list for the rest of the house, to be finished asap, and certainly before Christmas, which I foolishly agreed to host. Where’s that handy wall to hit my head on?

paint porch
paint eaves
101 other things to do with the garden

Living Room:
make & put up cornices
wash & starch sofa slipcover

Dining Room:
make & put up cornices

patch trim next to countertop
replace basement door (see also previous owners’ stupidity re: cat door)
replace baseboard next to basement door
touchup paint on cabinets/trim/new door
touchup paint on kitchen/breakfast rm adjoining wall
put up blinds on back door

put up new blinds (currently 1/2 broken roller shades)

Master Bdrm:
make & put up cornices

put up curtains
do acrylic garden scenes on walls
furniture might be nice, unless child is a yogi & fond of floor-sleeping

Guest Rm:
finish stripping wallpaper
paint walls

put up blinds (replace ugly tole-painted curtains left by former owners)

Bath downstairs:
finish painting walls (mmm..yellow…so much better than avocado & rust)

Bath upstairs:
paint trim (color? walls are cream, accents purple. suggestions welcome. currently bare, ugly wood – def. *not* original)

As you can see, many/most rooms are getting very close to exhibition level, but we’re not quite there yet. Stay tuned for further developments.

Wow, that is one heck of a long to-do list! Love the color of the nursery – I’ve got something similar in C’s room. ~CarolynG (who got addicted to Creative Memories a few years ago and now has three very far behind scrapbooks and a whole lot of funky scissors and scraps of paper.)
