I have 27 embies, out of the 31 eggs that were ICSIed yesterday. Good percentages! They’ll call tomorrow with the “cleavage report” (which has nothing to do with the Oscars red carpet) but we’re on for a 5 day transfer on Monday.
In other news, I am righteously pissed at the (now former) adoption agency, after [...]

Ever heard of an accidental referral? You know, the “hm, my period’s late, better pee on a stick” of the adoption world? Because I had this phone call/email today.
There’s a “possible match” from the agency-I-never-cancelled-with (thinking that their program might self-destruct and leave me with a refund.) I’m asking for more info, but it doesn’t [...]
One Year

One year ago today I entrusted my dossier to the noble employees of FedEx for submission to my agency. It was estimated that I’d travel in five to seven months. Obviously, that didn’t happen.
I’m surprisingly sanguine about the entire thing. Maybe I’ve reached the acceptance stage of the grieving process? Who knows. All I know [...]

re·cent (rē‘sənt)
adj.
Of, belonging to, or occurring at a time immediately before the present.
Modern; new.
Recent Geology. Of, belonging to, or denoting the Holocene Epoch.
My agency just posted an update (with zero new/relevant information in it, but that’s not the point of this rant.) The update made mention of “recent referrals.” The last referral made by [...]
Just To Be Clear

I reread my “Course Correction” post this morning. And, y’know, it’s a funny thing, but apparently articulating my nascent desire to do this parenting thing as a not-SMC, and my fears about SMC-ing in my current situation, well, it made them disappear. Or at least recede into the background.
A couple of other things were at work, [...]
The Awful Truth

Let’s start the new blog off with a little controversy, shall we? The great agency post beginneth here. The things I know (and am willing to discuss in public) are as follows:
1) They continue to give wildly different estimates to different people. And apparently think we don’t communicate.
2) They continue to outright lie/misrepresent themselves to [...]

I spent a good chunk of the past two evenings packing up the nursery. I disassembled the crib, loaded all of the clothes & dipes & books into boxes & rubbermaid tubs, and moved all of the furniture into the closet. The room now holds the stack of rubbermaids and the hand-me-down rocking chair that wouldn’t [...]
Corruption RAWKS!!

Quick. Someone find me a post, brick wall, or other large, immovable object against which to beat my head. The sheer frustration is incredible.
Young baby + short wait for referral + oh well, extra fees does not = YAY! WOoOO HoOOo!!!1! ReFeRrAl!!!!eleventyone!! It means corruption. It means someone most likely either is paying people off right & left [...]

Subtitle: WTF Do I Want, Anyway?
Ah, for the days when I knew exactly what I wanted, and went after it. Where did that go again? Seriously. Being this wishy-washy “I want this, I want that, I want everything but some things are mutually exclusive” girl is driving me crazy. I feel like I wake up [...]
Reevaluation

So I promised that I’d reassess my “options” at the end of June. And hey, we’re only six days into July, so no time like the present, right?
As a bit of review, I’ve worked my options out to four: 1) Stay on the current track with the current agency for a VN adoption, which I’d [...]
